Stanley D. Dorrance
Criminalist
Mr. Dorrance, founder of Forensic Science Sevices, received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminalistis from the University of California at Berkeley. He also holds a Masters Degree in Business Administration from California State University Fresno. Mr. Dorrance has been a member of the California Association of Criminalists since 1972.
Prior to founding Forensic Science Services, Mr. Dorrance was a Criminalist III for the California Department of Justice, Bureau of Forensic Services. He was employed by the California Department of Justice from 1972 to 1982 and was assigned to the Regional Ciminalistics Laboratory in Fresno, Calfornia.
During his employment with the Department of Justice Mr. Dorrance gained extensive experience in all major disciplines of Criminalistics. He has qualified as an expert witness on more than 3,500 occastions, of which over 3,000 have been alcohol related. He has qualified in Federal, Superior, Municipal and Justice Courts as well as before Grand Juries and at various State and Federal hearings. While employed by the California Department of Justice Mr. Dorrance was called as a prosecution witness on over 500 drunk driving trials.
While a Criminalist with the California Department of Justice Mr. Dorrance was a Forensic Alcohol Supervisor licensed by the California Department of Public Health. He has analyzed thousands of blood and urine samples for alcohol and was responsible for the maintenance and calibration of the breath testing devices under the laboratory's jurisdiction.
Mr. Dorrance is also a National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) Field Sobriety Test Instructor. He has also taught hundreds of law enforcement officers the proper procedures for the collection of blood and breath samples and is very knowledgeable as to the requirements of Title 17 of the California Code of Regulations.
Mr. Dorrance has appeared at over 2,500 DMV Admin Per Se Hearings throughout California.
